Interview with young reformer Krutika

What is the ongoing reformation you want to see in your church?

The ongoing reformation that I want to see in my church is that all youth should get equal positions in the church and there should be no discrimination. The youth should also get the chance to participate in the leadership meetings and all the church leaders should support the youth in their programs. The youth should become aware of the young reformers network, about reformation and about Lutheran identity.

What has been the reaction to the project among the youth?

The youth are very much interested in the project. They feel that this is a very good platform for them to learn more about reformation, since many youth don't know what reformation is, as well as learn about Martin Luther. Through this project they are able to know more about the young reformers network. They are interested in being a part of the network and they want this program to be continued. They have also given their views in the video interviews regarding the program.

How has been the participation of the youth in the reformation project?

The participation of the youth is very good and they are very active. At first they were kind of shy, but now they are participating very well. They are giving their views and they are very keen to learn more.

What has been challenging about creating the project?

Sometimes it’s challenging to conduct the program as in some parishes the youth don't cooperate and in some places the office bearers don't allow to the program to be conducted, so it’s kind of challenging and a bit disappointing for us. The church youth leaders have been supporting me and giving me strength and the youth are also giving a lot of support to the program, so in spite of the challenges we still have the courage to work together and we can rise to every challenge.

Did everything go as planned?

Sometimes yes and sometimes no because not every program is a success. As I said before we face many challenges so what we think exactly is sometimes not possible to do, but still we conduct it as planned.

How do you see the continuity of the project?

Yes, if the youth would like to keep the work active and the church is supporting us, it will be a pleasure to continue the project.
