Interview with young reformer Anneliese

What is the ongoing reformation you want to see in your church?

I would like to see more youth engagement in the church and that they take part in the decision making of the church. I want to see more youth work and more youth activity.

What has been the reaction to the project among the youth?

We created a facebook group and we received 30 participants in the group. The camp is going to be organized and the youth have signed up for it. The reaction has been good although it has been difficult to engage with the youth.

How has been the participation of the youth in the reformation project?

The participation of the weekend camp for the project is expecting the participation of 30 youth. We will have 3-4 young leaders in the camp coordinating the activities.

What has been challenging about creating the project?

The social media use was challenging, the youth did not interact so much as expected. The time management was also difficult for the young leaders via Skype.

Did everything go as planned?

It went different than we thought in the plan. We have to change strategy of how to gather the youth for participating in the camp by other ways, maybe more personal invitations than social media use.

How do you see the continuity of the project?

The continuity will depend on the youth and the church, if they want to organize more events in future for the youth. We expected the church and youth leaders could have more support to continue.
