LWF Delegation to UN COP 27
Since 2011, Youth have led LWF Conference of Parties (COP) delegations and they are leading climate justice projects all over the world, focusing on the importance of taking care of the creation, intergenerational justice, how to participate in climate national processes like National Determined Contributions - NDC, promoting reforestation in their own communities and gathering ideas for climate justice engagement on carbon neutrality.
LWF COP Delegates commit to:
(1) participate in learning sessions about ecotheology and climate justice before COP
(2) gather for daily online peer conversations about these topics during COP
(3) attend side events / negotiations during COP
(4) implement an LWF Youth Leadership project in their LWF Member Church after COP to share what they have learned
COP 26 in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt will be in a hybrid formation - a combination of in person and online.
Following up on the largest LWF delegation ever to COP 26, we look forward to welcoming another hybrid delegation to COP 27.
Check back in July for information on the nomination process for the COP 27 LWF Delegation.
